10:22 p.m. – Deputies responded to an area of Mendon Road in Ridge Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Gary Roebuck of Mercer County was southbound on Mendon Road nearing the intersection of Wren Landeck Road. A 2018 Chevy Silverado pulling a 1999 Corn Trailer driven by David Hoaglin of Harrison Township was northbound on Mendon Road from Wren Landeck Road. Roebuck was left of center and struck the trailer on the driver’s side wheel well. After striking the trailer. The Grand Marquis continued southbound, left the roadway and began to turn sideways and came to a rest facing northbound in a cornfield to the East of Mendon Road. No injuries were reported.

Two warrants issued by Van Wert Common Pleas for a bond violation and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony. Theresa Louise Bakle, 40, of Van Wert, is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.

12:38 a.m. – Deputies responded to an area of Dull Robinson Road in Liberty Township for a report of suspicious activity.

12:51 a.m. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a location on Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township for a subject with chest pain.

4:42 a.m. – Dispatched Van Wert Fire to a residence on West Main Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of an activated smoke detector.

9:01 a.m. – Deputies, along with Convoy Fire and EMS, Van Wert Fire and EMS, responded to an area of U.S. 30 in Tully Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a semi-truck. The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. CERT and ODOT assisted on scene.

4:27 p.m. – Deputies, along with Convoy Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Convoy Road in Tully Township. A 2014 Cadillac car driven by Zachary Clevenger of Paulding County was westbound on Convoy Road near the intersection of Werner Road. Clevenger estimated his speed to be around 60 mph when he swerved to avoid 4-5 deer in the roadway. His car left the roadway to the right and slid sideways through a field for about 500 feet before striking two trees and a pile of wood. Convoy EMS transported a passenger in the vehicle to OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital. Clevenger was issued a citation for failure to control.

9:41 p.m. – Deputies, along with Convoy EMS, responded to an area of North Main Street in the Village of Convoy for a report of a subject who appeared to have been highly intoxicated and had jumped off a golf cart while it was in motion. Michael P. Dirr, 45, of Convoy was reported to be unconscious with a head injury. He was transported to OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital and was then flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne.
