‘Night of Magic’ planned at Opera House

CONVOY — The Convoy Historical Society presents a “Night of Magic” in the Convoy Opera House, 111 S. Main St. in Convoy, on Saturday, February 22, beginning at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 that evening.

On stage for Act I will be Fort Wayne, Indiana, magician James Mitchell at 7 p.m. Mitchell said that while cleaning out the attic he unpacked his old magic equipment and performed an effect for one of his daughters.

“From that moment on, I was hooked and started learning more and more, eventually joining several magic clubs and began performing shows and started my company,” he said. “What began then as a hobby has flourished into to me performing professionally for audiences of all ages. I am passionate about entertaining and amazing my audiences.”

Act II will be Fort Wayne comedian and magician Rick Reader, who said he is at home on any stage rambling through his comedy and magic routines. Reader noted he will not let the audience get bored during his act. The comedian-magician has appeared on radio and television throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
