MP house fire…

Five area fire departments were called to fight a house fire near Middle Point early this morning. Shortly before the 3 a.m. Thursday, Middle Point, Van Wert, Delphos, Ohio City, and Spencerville fire departments were called out to fight the fire at 12203 Converse Roselm Road, which did significant damage to the two-story structure. Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on the scene providing traffic control and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) was also on scene providing assistance to the fire victims and providing warm drinks to responders due to frigid temperatures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, while firefighters remained at the scene at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. CERT photo
