#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

The Van Wert County Foundation celebrated giving by matching donations (up to $10,000 per fund) made to VWCF Charitable Organization Endowment Funds on #GivingTuesday. Individuals and businesses donated to one or multiple VWCF Charitable Organization Endowment Funds, essentially doubling the gift with the match. Those who gave to The Van Wert County Foundation’s #GivingTuesday initiative donated online and brought donations to the office.

The initiative was a success, with a total endowed amount of $98,808 with VWCF match. The largest donation went to the Wee Care Learning Center Trust. Donors gave $18,063 to that fund, while the County Foundation matched that amount up to $10,000 for a total of $28,063. The next largest donation went to the Cross Over the Hill Endowment Fund. Donors gave $12,615, while the Foundation matched $10,000 of that, for a total of $22,615 (below is a table showing total donations and matching funds from the Foundation).

Plans for #GivingTuesday 2020 (Tuesday, December 1, 2020) are already in the works.
