5 appear for hearings in local CP Court

Five people appeared this week for criminal hearings in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

Brendan Bergman, 24, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fourth degree. A presentence investigation was ordered and Bergman will appear for sentencing at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Three people appeared for violation hearings.

Jered Panning, 21, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his unsecured personal surety bond by failing to report to probation. A $5,000 cash bond was then set, while a final pretrial conference is already scheduled for January 8, 2020.

Jeremy Dunbar, 23, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his intervention in lieu of conviction program by testing positive for drugs, failing to report to probation, and failing to complete counseling. Sentencing was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. January 15.

Troy Terhark, 55, of Lima, appeared before Magistrate Joseph Quatman and was informed that he had violated his bond for failing to appear for sentencing. A $15,000 cash bond was set in the case and a new sentencing hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, December 12.

Daniel Craig, 37, of Van Wert, requested a full hearing on his bond, which Judge Martin D. Burchfield scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10.
