Gregory Alan Beckman

Gregory Alan Beckman, 65, of Jupiter, Florida, flew somewhere over the rainbow into heaven on Monday, June 4, 2018, after several extended illnesses.

He was born December 15, 1952, in Lima, the son of Joseph and Nancy Holtzapple Beckman, who both preceded him in death. He married Susan Clum on April 13, 1973, in Van Wert, and she survives.

He graduated from Van Wert High School in 1972. He was then drafted into the United States Air Force, where he served until 1976 as a firefighter on crash/rescue and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Marquette, Michigan.

He worked at Beneficial Finance in Toledo; Apria Healthcare in Stuart, Florida; A World of Rugs in Juno Beach, Florida; and as a partner with his wife in their business, USA Medical Transcription Inc., in Jupiter.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Amy and Rob Pohorence and Wendy and Chaz Sunser; grandchildren Brittney Watson, Spencer Gregory Hackler, Marissa Hackler, and Alaira Pohorence; and a great-grandson, Alexander Gregory Suarez. A brother, Bryce (Jackie) Beckman, also survives.

Before his illnesses, he enjoyed being the most wonderful and unforgettable Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandson, RC flying, and camping.

Everyone will always remember his motto: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Calvary Church in Jupiter.
