Maurice Calvert Taylor

Maurice Calvert Taylor, 86, of Ohio City, died at 8:44 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 18, 1928, in Ohio City, the son of the late Cecil Calvert and Florence Lillian (Shindeldecker) Taylor. On January 1, 1950, at First Baptist Church in Van Wert, he married Shirley Ann (Scarpelli) Taylor, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, Keith E. Taylor of Ohio City; one daughter, Gina K. (Larry) Subler of Ohio City; a brother, Gaylord L. Taylor of Van Wert; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Coral Evelyn Marbaugh, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 5, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steven G. Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military honors performed there.

Calling hours are from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the funeral home.
