Helen Eileen Davis

Helen Eileen Davis, 90, of Rockford, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019, at her home after a lengthy illness.  

She was born November 29, 1928, at home in Liberty Township, Mercer County, the daughter of William and Amelia Katherine (Bollenbacher) Weinmann, who both preceded her in death. In January 1949, she married Doyle Sealscott, and he died March 2, 1950. She then married Woodrow Davis on August 23, 1952, and he died February 18, 1994.  

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Sue Barker of Rockford, and Rhonda Kaye Fierro of Griffith, Indiana; two stepchildren, Larry Davis and Rita Yaney; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.  

A stepson, Richard Davis; and a sister, Wilma Juanita Klosterman, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, at Rockford United Methodist Church, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. 

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
