Gloria E. Voltz

Gloria E. Voltz, 92, of rural Ohio City, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at her residence.

She was born July 15, 1925, in rural Van Wert County, the daughter of Hugh Bronson and Hazel (Knowlton) Elder, who both preceded her in death. On January 9, 1945, she married Billy Voltz. who died February 22, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Kay (Ronald) Shale of Englewood, Colorado; two sons, John W. (Susan Germann) Voltz and James R. Voltz, both of Ohio City; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a foster great-granddaughter.
A sister, Ireta Louise Kiehl; one brother, Hugh B. Elder Jr.; a granddaughter, Melissa Shale; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Reed, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, at St. Paul’s Reformed Church in America in Harrison Township, with the Rev. Jerry A. Flueckiger officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, where an Order of Eastern Star ceremony will be held at 7 that evening, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
