Speaker named for Lincoln Day Dinner

The Van Wert County Republican Central Committee has announced the guest speaker for its Lincoln Day Dinner, to be held Monday, April 9, at Willow Bend Country Club. The doors will open for the event at 6 p.m., with dinner to be served at 6:30 that evening.

U.S. Representative Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) will speak during the event. Rep. Davidson is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and a 12-year veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in, among others, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the 101st Airborne Division. He also earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Rep. Davidson was first elected to represent Ohio’s 8th Congressional District in a special election in 2016 to replace former Speaker of the House John Boehner following his resignation. He was re-elected to a full term in November 2016.

He currently services on the House’s Financial Services Committee, which oversees regulation of financial institutions.
