Brecht is the Student Athlete of the Week

Crestview High School senior cheerleader Lauren Brecht is this week’s Van Wert independent/ Northwest Ohio Welch Trophy Student Athlete of the Week. Brecht, who was nominated by athletic administrator Dave Bowen, has been a member of the cheerleading squad since middle school. She’s also a member of the track team and is a four year member of student council. Coaches and athletic directors may nominate student athletes for the weekly award by sending an e-mail to sports@thevwindependent.com.
