Barbara L. Rice

Barbara L. Rice, 68, of Van Wert, died Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2018, with family by her side.

She was born April 9, 1949, in Toledo, the daughter of Robert J. and Leona R. (Miller) Maxson, who both preceded her in death. On April 11, 1975, she married Rodger D. Rice, who survives at the residence.

Survivors include a daughter, Denise J. Zinsmaster (Dave Hargis) of Lockport, Illinois; two sons, Matthew Robert “Bob” (Teresa) Rice of Toledo, and Michael (Cara) Rice of Tripoli, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia (Charles) Harner and Sharon Bishop, both of Florida.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice or the Van Wert County Humane Society.
