Lady Lancers fall to Columbus Grove

Columbus Grove used free throws to defeat Lincolnview 51-31 on Thursday.

The Bulldogs were 23-27 (85 percent) from the foul line, while the hosts hit three of just four foul shots.

After trailing 12-8 at the end of the opening quarter, Lincolnview was outscored 14-8 in the second quarter and trailed 26-16 at halftime. The Lady Lancers enjoyed a 12-9 scoring advantage in the third quarter but still trailed 35-28 after the period. Columbus Grove used a 16-3 scoring edge (including 10 foul shots) in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Kayla Schimmoeller led Lincolnview with 10 points, followed by Alena Looser (9) and Maddie Gorman (8).

The Lady Lancers (3-5, 0-2 Northwest Conference) will play in the Chatt Insurance Holiday Tournament at Parkway December 28 and 29.
