City issues trash collection reminder

The City of Van Wert is reminding residents that, as of Tuesday, January 2, 2018, trash pick-up must be the same day as recycling pick-up, per city ordinance.

City residents are encouraged to discuss the trash pick-up requirements with their trash hauler to ensure the new process is implemented.

As of January 2, trash and recycling collection needs to be as follows in the city’s four wards:

• First Ward, Thursdays.
• Second Ward, Monday and Tuesdays.
• Third Ward, Wednesdays.
• Fourth Ward, Fridays.
