Van Wert soccer team tops Lima Sr.

LIMA — The Lady Cougars closed the regular season, with Saturday’s 3-1 non-conference win over Lima Sr.

Lima Senior’s own goal accounted for the first score, and Van Wert’s two remaining goals came in the second half. The first occurred when Hayley Kuhlman beat the goalkeeper and scored on an assist from Olivia Davidson. The remaining goal was scored on a breakway by Cassidy Meyers.

Van Wert (4-12, 0-9 Western Buckeye League) will begin Division II sectional play at Wapakoneta at 5 p.m. Saturday.
