Van Wert golfers defeat Celina

The Van Wert Cougars picked up their first golf victory of the season on Monday, topping Celina 173-217 at Willow Bend Country Club.

Jared Hernandez took home match medalist honors with a 38, and Austin Bissonette was the runner-up medalist with a 41. Gavin Flickinger (46), Cameran Terhark (48), Evan Knittle (51) and Kaden Thomas closed out the scoring for Van Wert.

The Cougars will host Bryan today at Willow Bend Country Club.

Crestview, Lincolnview defeat Delphos Jefferson, Ada

Crestview’s team score of 193 was good enough to defeat Delphos Jefferson (206) and Ada (236) Monday at Hickory Sticks Golf Club. Brett Schumm’s 43 led the Knights, while Jacob Bowman fired a 48. Caden Hurless, Colton Lautzenheiser and Derek Stout each carded a 51, and Olivia Skelton finished with a 54.

Lincolnview (171) also defeated the Wildcats and the Bulldogs. Ryan Moody led the Lancers with a 39, and Jaden Youtsey finished with a 43. Braden Evans (44), Reece Farmer (45), and Zane Miller (55) rounded out scoring for Lincolnview.

Lady Lancers top Marion Local

Marissa Miller’s 48 (match medalist) helped Lincolnview top the Lady Flyers 209-224 in Monday’s non-conference golf match at Mercer County Elks.

Winter Boroff was the runner-up medalist with a 50. Other scores for the Lady Lancers included Shiann Kraft (53), Kailey Denman (58) and Kasey Denman (63).

Lincolnview (6-7) will host Lima Sr. today at Hickory Sticks.
