Tips on the VW Co. Fair’s photo display

By Rex Dolby

I would guess folks are starting to prepare their photos for the Van Wert County Fair’s Photography Exhibit.

A few reminders from the fair’s rules are: There can be only one photo per frame and that frame can be no larger than 18 united inches. (That’s 1 length + 1 width or for an example, an 8″x10″ opening.)  Pictures have to be placed in a sturdy frame with screw eyes and wires attached to the back for hanging and covered with glass or Plexiglas.  This protects the photo if it should be dropped as well as from coughs and sneezes.  Photos are not to be altered in any way so they can also be entered in another class, but two different photos may be offered for the same class.  The photo must be the work of the exhibitor and cannot be submitted if it has been entered in a previous VW Co. Fair exhibit.

Pictures with their tags attached to the backs will be received Sunday, Aug. 28, between 1-5 p.m. by members of the Van Wert Area Photography Club. They will be judged on Monday, Aug. 29, starting at 6 p.m.
