Ruby Emma Doan

Ruby Emma Doan, 91, of Van Wert, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born June 11, 1925, in Ridge Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of Clarence and Nellie L. (Mathew) Cowgill, who both preceded her in death. On August 5, 1944, she married Franklin Howard Doan, who died December 28, 2007.

Survivors include a daughter, Annelle (Larry) Reynolds of Spencerville; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Nancy DeCamp; and three brothers, George Augustus Cowgill, Leonard Emery Cowgill, and Harold Everett Cowgill, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Kevin Wilcox officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Visitation is from 3-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
