Crestview awarded $200,000 grant

CONVOY — Teachers at Crestview Local Schools will see more personal development as a result of a Straight A Grant recently received by the school district.

Crestview will receive $212,819 for use on personal development, virtual coaching technology, stipends, and training. The district partnered with the Georgetown Local School District to seek the grant, with additional partners the Ohio Federation of Teachers and the Battelle for Kids organization.

According to grant language, the grant is “designed to create and sustain professional learning systems that are personalized, competency-based, job-embedded, and collaborative.

Goals of Project APPLE (Assuring Positive Professional Learning Experiences) are as follows:

  • Meet or exceed educator effectiveness goals by each school district through their professional learning redesign planning process.
  • Meet or exceed desired student outcomes identified by each district through its professional learning redesign process and school improvement plan.
  • Establish a sustainable, shared, and evidence-based professional learning delivery model that supports accountability and flexibility.
