Together Band kicks off park music series

In conjunction with the Peony and ArtRageous festivals this weekend, the Fountain Park Summer Music Series will open its season with the Together Band from Fremont tonight, starting at 7 p.m.

This nine-piece band brings the best of classic rock, funk, soul and “feel good” music from the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties: all the great music area residents love to hear.

The Together Band consists of professional musicians on guitar, bass, drums, vocals, trumpet, sax, trombone, keyboards, and percussion. The group has been a popular band for festivals, fairs, casinos, and fun gatherings throughout the tri-state area.

In conjunction with the festivals, artists, crafters, food trucks, and car show participants will be in and around Fountain Park.

Furthermore, Peony Festival Queen Ashton Bowersock and her court will be introduced before the show begins at 7, and, in addition to the various food trucks, food will also be available from the Peony Festival Committee at the Van Wert Rotary food stand.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets to Fountain Park to enjoy the official kick-off to summer in Van Wert and enjoy a free concert with lots of fun.

This marks the 15th season for the Fountain Park Summer Music Series, which is totally underwritten by The Van Wert County Foundation and presented in cooperation with the Van Wert City Parks & Recreation Department.

The next concert in the series will be June 17 with Madrigal — The Ultimate Tribute to Carlos Santana; followed by Beginnings — A Tribute to Chicago on June 24. A full listing of summer series concerts will be available at an information table near the band shell.

In case of rain, concerts are moved into the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on Ohio 118 on the south edge of Van Wert.
