Legion Riders announce fundraiser dinner

The American Legion Riders Chapter 178 is having a fundraising dinner Tuesday, May 31. Serving starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until 7:15 that evening. The public is welcome.

The menu will include quesadas, Spanish rice, refried beans, and salad, and also includes punch drinks.

Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children.

The American Legion Riders sponsor four scholarships each year to local high school students that participate in the Government and Americanism contests at their respective schools.

The Legion Riders also donate to the American Legion Riders Legacy Fund, which supports scholarships for children who lost a parent in the War on Terror, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

The American Legion also supports the charity “Gifts for Yanks, which supports veterans that are in a Veterans Administration hospital and local nursing homes.
