Connie JoAnne Boley Painter

Connie JoAnne Boley Painter, 54, of Sarasota, Florida, and formerly of Van Wert, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota.

She was born April 23, 1962, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Boley, who preceded her in death, and Mary Alice Boley, who survives in Nixa, Missouri.

She is also survived by her husband, Rex Painter of Sarasota; two brothers,  Dale (Lolly) Boley of Van Wert and Delmer Hogan of Toledo;  three sisters, Rose Gephart of Marion, Katherine (Darren) Anstead of Nixa, Missouri, and Esther (Ron) Stein of Woolstock, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Connie graduated from Van Wert High School and Vantage Career Center in 1980 and attended the University of Toledo. She previously owned Swan Memorials in Van Wert and served on the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Van Wert boards. Connie’s love of art and the beauty of nature inspired her to create many beautiful things. She loved travel, proudly visiting 47 states and eight countries.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
