3 appear in VW Common Pleas Court

Three people appeared in Van Wert County Common Pleas on Wednesday, with two of those changing their pleas from not guilty to guilty.

David Brooks, 32, of Delphos, changed his plea to guilty on a charge of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony offense. A second count of aggravated possession of drugs, also a felony of the fifth degree, was dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 8.

Lindsay Quintero, 25, of Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a charge of obstructing justice, a misdemeanor of the first degree, (reduced from a felony count of the same charge). Judge Martin Burchfield ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. June 8.

Dawnja Sol Fuentes, 27, of Van Wert, denied violating her treatment in lieu of conviction program by having a positive drug screen and by not completing counseling. A hearing was set for 2 p.m. Monday, May 16.
