Robert D. Lininger

Robert D. “Sporty” Lininger of Van Wert died at 10:25 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 2, 1928, in Van Wert, the son of Ray and Helen (Siple) Lininger, who both preceded him in death. He married Janet (Carpenter) Lininger, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two children, Richard (Beth) Lininger and Gary (Carol) Lininger, both of Van Wert; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Dick, Jack, and Roger Lininger, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Will Haggis officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
