Juniors and seniors at Crestview are anxiously awaiting the weekend for one reason, prom. This Saturday, students will gather at Willow Bend Country Club and experience a “Knight Under the Stars”, which is this year’s prom theme chosen by the junior class. “We wanted to have an elegant theme for prom, but also something that wouldn’t be too difficult to decorate,” said Kalissa Leal. An open house at Willow Bend will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday for the public to view the decorations. Promenade is 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. for those eating dinner at Willow Bend, and 7:15 to 7:45 p.m. for those who have chosen to eat elsewhere. Dinner provided by Willow Bend begins at 7 p.m. and the dance is from 8 to 11 p.m. After-prom will be held at Olympic Lanes from 11:30 until 2:30 a.m. “I am excited and looking forward to prom this weekend to spend time with my classmates as a group before we graduate,” said Jordan Miller.

After taking a break from their competition show for a while due to dinner theater, Knight Vision and the Jazz Band are preparing for their last performance of the year. On May 13, Knight Vision and Jazz Band, along with chorus and concert band, will be putting on their annual Pops Concert. Starting at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditeria, a series of new and popular songs will be performed by the high school chorus and band. Also, Knight Vision, Crestview’s show choir group, will perform their competition show that they have put on throughout the year. “I am sad that this year is coming to an end because I’m going to miss the seniors, but I’m looking forward to learning next year’s show,” said Lyvia Black.

Spring sports are finally underway after all the cancellations due to weather. Varsity girls and boys both have games tonight at Bluffton for a conference matchup. JV girls are at Kalida, 8th grade boys are at Parkway, and 7th grade girls are home with Ada, all beginning at 5 p.m. “We’re really glad to be able to be back on the field. Tournament draw is less than three weeks away, and it’s crucial to get as many games in as possible before then,” said Tianna Rager.
