Cougar boys tennis team downs Wapak

The Van Wert boys’ tennis team won its fifth match, beating the Wapakoneta Redskins 3-2 on Monday.

Individual match results are as follows:

• No. 1 singles – Brandon Amstutz (VW) lost to Emerson Haggar (W) 6-2, 6-3.
• No. 2 singles – Nick Etter (VW) defeated Alex Stinebaugh (W) 6-2, 6-2.
• No. 3 singles – Ryan Keber (VW) lost to Jian Feng Zhao (W) 6-4, 6-7 (7-5), 0-6.
• No. 1 doubles – Gabe Rollins/Davis Munroe (VW) defeated Riley Werling/Bruce Schlenker (W) 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-4).
• No. 2 doubles – Mike Etter/Spencer Teman (VW) defeated Ben Schroer/Andrew Gibson (W) 6-2, 6-5.

The Cougars are now 5-1 on the season.
