Catherine Eichler

Catherine Eichler, 88, of Rockford, died at 7:38 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 9, 1927, in rural Willshire, the daughter of Carl F. and Gertrude (Brewster) Miller, who both preceded her in death. On April 14, 1956, she married Paul Eichler, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include three children, Kathy (Richard) Cesar of Rockford, Ed (Lisa) Eichler of Van Wert, and Bob (Mary) Eichler of Rockford; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Werner of Zelionople, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Carl LaVerne (Martha) Miller of Berne, Indiana, and Kenneth (Dee) Miller of Demotte, Indiana.

A brother, Herbert M. Miller; and three sisters, Emilene Henkle, Anna Lou Kosier, and Helen Linn, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hopewell, with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Chattanooga.

Visitation is from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hopewell, or the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
