Truck fire on U.S. 30

Shown is a tractor-trailer truck cab that caught fire on U.S. 30, just east of Convoy Road Monday afternoon. The accident was handled by troopers from the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Convoy Fire Department personnel. Van Wert County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy coordinated the hazardous materials cleanup for the petroleum product, which got into an area ditch. ERS Environment from Bowling Green was on scene much of Tuesday removing contaminated water and soil. No one was reportedly injured in the fire. (Rick McCoy/for the Van Wert independent)
