Lloyd R. ‘Bud’ Prichard

Lloyd R. “Bud” Prichard, 88, died Monday morning, March 21, 2016, at his residence in Van Wert.

He was born March 3, 1928, in Ohio City, the son of Alta Ralph and Hattie (Dunbar) Prichard, who both preceded him in death. On September 26, 1953, he married the former Shirley Mae Highley, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Kevin L. (Gretta) Prichard of Ohio City and Kent R. (Jacquie) Prichard of Van Wert; a daughter, Sandy K. (Ron) DeVecchio of Van Wert; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A twin brother, Floyd, in infancy; and his sister, Helen Irene Poling, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Matt Braun officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, where combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert, will render graveside military honors.

Visitation is from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the funeral home.
