The NHS has organized a new fundraiser called “Kids Against Hunger.” To raise money for this organization, NHS has put together a week where Crestview students can get involved and also help out. Each day this week students brought in a dollar to participate in dressing accordingly to the day. Monday was Pajama Day, Tuesday was Superhero Day, Wednesday was Halloween Day, Thursday was dress like a teacher day, and Friday was Hat Day. On Wednesday for Halloween Day students were able to get their faces painted during lunch. “We are trying to think of creative ways to raise money for the food we are going to send to Haiti,” said Leslie Skelton.

The boys’ basketball banquet was on Monday. This involved all cheerleaders, basketball players, coaches, and managers in junior high and high school. Awards were received and highlights of the season were shared.

FFA also had their banquet on Tuesday. FCCLA helped set the tables and prepare the banquet. They helped during the banquet as they severed the students and their parents. They also helped after as they helped clean up. Payton Schaadt said, “I really enjoy the banquet because Tom Gibson provides good food and it is fun to recall all the good memories.” FFA students and parents ate food from Tom Gibson and Travis Lichtensteiger brought in sweet corn. Mrs. Sawmiller, the advisor for FCCLA, had her foods classes and members of FCCLA make cupcakes for the banquet during their study halls and classes.

Dinner Theatre starts tomorrow at 6:30 p..m in the auditeria. Knight Vision parents help with the dinner and the community can attend and also watch them perform while enjoying a delicious dinner. A second Dinner Theatre performance will be held Saturday at 6:30 p.m. as well.

Sunday starts the first day of spring. Students at Crestview are overly excited for their spring break which will start on March 25 and they will come back on March 29. The students will be ending their third nine weeks a day before spring break. “I’m excited for spring break because we get a little time off before we start our last nine weeks of the school year, and with being a senior it means a lot to have time off,” said Siera Wood.
