Van Wert SWCD offering fish fingerlings

With snow in the forecast it seems early to think about one’s pond; however, the Van Wert Soil and Water Conservation District is now accepting orders for fish fingerlings for area ponds.

Species available include largemouth bass, blue gill, channel catfish, minnows, and white amur. The bass, bluegill, and channel catfish can be purchased in lots of 25; the minnows in quantities of 100, with a minimum of 500 per order; and the white amur individually with a minimum of two.

This program is open to the public, and orders will be accepted until Wednesday, April 27. The fish will be delivered promptly at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 4. Payment (cash or check) is required when placing the order.
