St. Mary’s donation

St. Vincent DePaul Society donation 2-2016

As part of Catholic Schools Week, St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School students held a “Dime War” between the grades to help raise money for the St. Vincent DePaul Society and buy canned goods for the Salvation Army Food Bank. For four days, students brought in dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies to help raise over $1,400 for the two causes. St. Mary’s students recently present a check for $1,200 to St. Vincent de Paul Society representatives Dave Mathew, Steve Wasserman, and Ed Fox. The St. Vincent de Paul Society works to help people experiencing financial difficulties, helping them pay for rent, utilities, and other basic needs. Those who know people who could benefit from St. Vincent de Paul’s help can contact the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church office at 419.238.3979. (photo submitted)
