Jean M. Burrow

Jean M. Burrow, 69, of Van Wert, and formerly of Olean, New York, went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born January 20, 1947, in Olean, to William M. and Margaret Ann (Ross) Edwards, who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Burrow of Van Wert.

Other survivors include her children, Kathleen (Thad) Davis of Van Wert, Kara (Toby) Cobb of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, Krista (Shane) Somerton of Van Wert, and Kollin (Daniel) Burrow of Kissimmee, Florida; a nephew she raised as a son, Michael (Karen) Edwards of Mauldin, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Rosemary (Ray) Paladino; and one brother, William (Claudia) Edwards, survive.

Three brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

Jean was a devout Catholic attending Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. She also was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 in Van Wert and St. John Roman Catholic Church in Olean, New York. She was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean.

She had been employed as a pharmacy technician, both in Van Wert and in Olean.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Stan Szybka officiating.

Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 15, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
