FFA Week activities

The Lincolnview Beta Club recently assisted with the Area 3 Special Olympics Basketball Skills day. The students assisted with the pass, shoot and dribble events. They had the opportunity to award the athletes their medals and celebrate with them after the events were finished. There was also some dancing to celebrate the athletes’ achievements. Lincolnview FFA is sponsoring daily activities next week for the annual FFA Week observance. All proceeds will be sent to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Friday, Feb. 19 will kickoff the event with the elementary school coloring contest. Saturday will be the community breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Entries from the coloring contest will be displayed and voted on. The breakfast is open to the entire community with no cost to anyone.

Monday will be America day when staff and students will dress in red, white and blue. A cornhole tournament for High School students will be held every day of the week at Lancer Time, with the winning team to be announced on Friday. Duct tape sales will be held every day during lunch periods. The “winner” of the contest will be duct-taped to a wall for the Friday assembly.

Old Fashioned Day, observed on Tuesday, will find staff and students dressed in old-fashioned clothes.

Wednesday will be “Geek Day”. Wednesday is also Staff Appreciation Day when FFA members for the staff of the district prepare breakfast. Serving will be from 7-8:15 a.m. The Fall sale pizza party for eligible FFA members will occur.

Thursday will be Farmer day with a Truck Drive-in Contest. Competition will be for the cleanest, dirtiest and overall favorite truck. The Junior High will have an opportunity to have open play cornhole during their Lancer Time for a $1 donation.

Finally on Friday dress for the day will be Crazy Blue and Gold Wacky Jacket Day. At the end of the school day, the Ag Olympics and Pep Assembly will be held. The Cornhole Championship winners, as well as all other contests will be announced. The “lucky” person to be duct-taped to a wall will be taped to the wall.
