Ralph Edwin Wood

Ralph Edwin Wood, 76, died at 9:40 p.m., Saturday at his residence in Van Wert.

He was born October 17, 1939, in Wabash, Indiana, the son of Charles Wood and Alice (Hawley) Wright, who both preceded him in death. On June 3, 1991, he married the former Gloria S. Hurless, who survives.

Other survivors include five children, Jeff (Kim) Wood of Brownsburg, Indiana, and David (Connie) Wood, Christopher Merle Wood, Jennifer Lynn Wood, and Kendra (Kevin) Papke, all of Van Wert; five grandchildren; a sister, Vicki Hatcher of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law, Wanda (Gary) Baker of Van Wert; and a special friend, Kelli Knapke of Van Wert.

Three children, Ronnie, Sheila, and Tracy Lynn, and a brother, Charles Wood, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 14, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at a late date at Ridge Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
