Jason Deloyd Straw

Jason Deloyd Straw, 91, of Ohio City, died Saturday, January 2, 2016.

He was born October 22, 1924, in Glenmore, the son of Richard and Leona (Gehres) Straw, who both preceded him in death. On July 3, 1948, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, he married the former Betty June Rickard, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include eight children, Linda (Terry) Stukey of Ohio City, Anthony (Barb) Straw of Aliso Viejo, California, Deb Straw of Van Wert, Kathie Straw of Ohio City, Dennis  (Terri) Straw of Ohio City, Sue Tinnel of Van Wert, Karen (Doug) Droll of Van Wert, and Jay (Jennifer) Straw of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a sister, Beth Ann Davis of Port Orange, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A son, Douglas Straw; one brother, Robert Straw; and a grandson, Rusty Straw, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 8, at St. Paul’s Church in rural Van Wert County. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, also in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 7, at Cowan Funeral Home in Van Wert.
