Two people appeared for hearings Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.
Wesley Elam, 23, of Celina, entered a not guilty plea to a grand jury indictment charging him with burglary, a felony of the second degree. Elam was released on a personal surety bond, although he is currently being held in custody in Mercer County on similar charges.
A pretrial conference will be scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday, February 3.
John J. Gosnell, 26, of Paulding, also waived his constitutional right to a speedy trial on Wednesday. He then requested, and was granted, a continuance of his trial, which was originally scheduled for February 8, on a charge of aggravated robbery, a felony of the first degree.
Gosnell, who is charged in connection with a robbery at the Pak-A-Sak convenience store on November 14, 2015, is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. He also faces similar charges in other counties.
