CECIL — The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on two men who robbed the Maramart convenience store in Cecil on Friday night.
According to Sheriff Jason K. Landers, two young white males, one of whom was carrying a bolt-action rifle, entered the store and demanded cash. The man with the gun was wearing blue jeans, a flannel jacket, and a black stocking cap, while the other man was wearing tan pants, a black sweatshirt turned inside out, and a brown stocking cap.
The clerk working when the robbery occurred, approximately 8:45 p.m. Friday, was not injured, although the robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
An eyewitness stated the men headed north on U.S. 127 towards Defiance County in a late 1980s or 1990s black (possibly flat black) Chevrolet pickup truck, with black rims.
“My deputies have been following leads today in an attempt to resolve this case,” Sheriff Landers said in a news release on Saturday.
Anyone with information on the robbery can call the sheriff’s office at 419.399.3791 or send an anonymous message at www.pauldingohsheriff.com by clicking a link at the bottom of any page on the site.
