Mildred Ricker

Mildred “Micky” Ricker, 98, of Fort Jennings, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at her residence.

She was born February 15, 1917, in Kalida, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Verhoff) Hamel, who both preceded her in death. On September 28, 1937, she married Leonard Ricker, who died February 5, 1988.

Survivors include a son, James L. (Nancy) Ricker of Fort Jennings; one daughter, Mary Ann Ricker of Convoy; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Harold (Jean) Hamel, Cy (Dot) Hamel, and Donald Hamel; and two sisters, Marguerite (Carl) Kurber and Florence (William) Zeller, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Jennings.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be held at 7 that evening, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
