As the year comes to an end, students are eager to finish the last few days so they can begin their two week holiday break. Crestview will be off Dec. 21 through Jan. 4, and shortly after will be preparing for the first semester exams. Students have mixed feelings about that situation. Senior Leslie Skelton said,” I feel like it’ll be difficult getting back into school work after two weeks off, especially studying for exams. But we’ve done it in the past and got through it, so I’m sure we’ll be able to do it again.”

To get into the Christmas spirit, FCCLA was busy last week on Friday and Saturday hosting a Christmas party for the special needs classes, and having “A Knight in Who-ville.” Friday morning during school, the group got together with a couple classes and had breakfast, decorated cookies, made gifts for their teachers and families, and opened a few gifts for themselves. “I had a lot of fun spending time with the kids and it was nice to see them so happy about what we did for them,” said Ashley Dealey.

On Saturday evening, around 55 Kindergarten through second graders gathered throughout the school and spent time with the FCCLA students watching The Grinch, making crafts, eating snacks, and playing games. Courtney Cearns said, “My favorite part was being able to help and watch the kids make crafts to take home to their parents for Christmas.” The evening was based on the popular movie, The Grinch, and was a great time to get into the holiday spirit.
