John Roger Wood

John Roger Wood, 74, of Van Wert, died at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 30, 1941, in McDowell County, West Virginia, the son of John and Winnie L. (Honaker) Wood, who both preceded him in death. On November 13, 1961, he married the former Sandra Glenna Porter, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa D. Couch of Van Wert; four brothers, Raymond (Angel) Wood of Winchester, Kentucky, Charles (Joyce) Wood of Homestead, Florida, Richard (Diane) Wood of Okeechobee, Florida, and Steve (Susie) Wood of Convoy; one sister, Emily May of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Two daughters, Donna Sue Goings and Dianna Lue Chaney; two sisters, Marvin Smith and Gladys Querico; and a brother, Kenneth Wood, also preceded  him in death.

There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 24, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be from noon until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
