Deo C. Haines

Deo C. Haines, 93, of rural Van Wert, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Hearth & Home in Van Wert.

He was born November 22, 1922, in Convoy, the son of Richard Thurman and Lucille (Coffelt) Haines, who both preceded him in death. On December 3, 1960, he married the former Marilyn M. Switzer, who died October 18, 2010.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan E. (Jon) Gnagy of North Manchester, Indiana; a son, Kenneth R. (Marie) Haines of Justin, Texas; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Seven brothers, Harold A. Haines, Robert A. Haines, Sr., Richard E. Haines, Louis E. Haines, Bernard C. Haines, Walter D. Haines, and Leo M. Haines, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Savage officiating. Burial will follow Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
