CONVOY — It took two overtimes, but the Crestview Knights finally got past Columbus Grove 70-62 in a Northwest Conference contest played Friday in Ray Etzler Gymnasium. Although the game was contested closely for all of regulation and the first overtime, the Knights ran away with it when they scored nine unanswered points in the final OT.

Connor Lautzenheiser led the Knights with 23 points — including the 1,000th point of his career — while two other Crestview players scored in double figures. Javin Etzler had a double-double — 11 points and 10 rebounds — while Cody Mefferd also scored 11 points for the Knights.

Grove was led by Rece Roney’s 17 points, while Baily Clement added 16 points, and Gabe Stechschulte poured in 13 counters for the Bulldogs.

Also in the NWC, Lincolnview edged Spencerville 50-49 on Friday at Spencerville.

Lancer Hayden Ludwig led his team with 14 points, while Derek Youtsey had a double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Chandler Adams added 11 points for Lincolnview.

Spencerville’s Mason Nourse led all scorers with 17 points, while Dak Prichard added 13 points for the Bearcats.
