The A Cappella Choir is directed by Dr. Mark Munson and is comprised of approximately 40 auditioned singers, both music majors and non-majors. Each year, the group travels the U.S., and this spring will be traveling the East Coast. The Women’s Chorus is under the direction of Professor Sandra Stegman and is comprised of approximately 55 music majors and non-majors.

Each choir will present a program of diverse choral literature performed recently on campus at BGSU.  The groups will then combine for a special Christmas selection. Also included on the program will be accompanist Michael Gartz, a graduate of Eastman School of Music majoring in organ who will be performing a special selection on the First United Methodist Noehren pipe organ.

The concert is sponsored in part by The Van Wert County Foundation and First United Methodist Church of Van Wert.  A free-will offering will be taken.

Prior to the concert, Main Street Van Wert and the City of Van Wert will be holding a Christmas tree lighting ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. in Fountain Park, corner of Main and Jefferson streets.  Refreshments and music by The Merry Gentlemen will be provided. Following the ceremony, the public is invited to the church to enjoy the choir concert. First United Methodist Church is located adjacent to Fountain Park.
