Alice Marie Lammers Pohlman

Alice Marie Lammers Pohlman died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 15, 1916, in Delphos, the daughter of Lawrence and Christine (Elwer) Lammers, who both preceded her in death. She married Ray Pohlman, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include seven children, Sister Mary Madelena (Mary Lou) of Toledo, Elizabeth Spanton of California, Joan Roby of Florida, David (Lucy) Pohlman of Delphos, Sharon (Michael) Hohne of Kentucky, Theresa (James) Huster of Maumee, and Robert (Denise) Pohlman of North Carolina; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alvera (Herman) Hemker and Catherine Wolf; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Warnecke.

Two sisters, Marciel Warnecke and Louann Altman; a brother, Albert Lammers; and two sons-in-law, John Spanton and Clint Roby, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Friday, December 18, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.

Preferred memorials: Teachers of St. John’s School, the Sisters of Notre Dame, or the Children’s Medical Mission.
