The art is here for our Annual Artist Members’ Exhibit & Sale! Over 200 pieces of art are almost ready for your holiday shopping and viewing pleasure! You can enjoy a fine exhibit of work by area artists and at the same time pick up unique holiday gifts for your  friends and family (or yourself!).

The show opens with a party on Nov. 21 from 6-9 p.m. Live music will be provided by, Matt Keeler and the Blues Revelers.  They play a mix of Celtic, bluegrass and folk on antique instruments. Your toes will be tapping, we guarantee. Free hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. All Wassenberg Art Center exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public.

We are excited to announce our new Event/Program Coordinator, Megan Thomas. Megan joined us over Halloween and dove right in. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University and has experience with event planning, teaching and other programming. She has served at such notable places as Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts in New Castle, Maine, Baton Rouge Public Library in Louisiana, and also served as Youth Services Assistant at the Fort Wayne Public Library. With Megan’s help we plan to implement more exciting art class ideas.

Art Classes will be ongoing throughout the remainder of fall and winter. Please give us a call to see what is on the schedule now, or visit our website — wassenbergartcenter.org.

People are beginning to come to Art Night; won’t you join us? Every Thursday at 7–9 p.m. we open up our doors, our bar, and turn on the tunes so you can come and make stuff.  You can even play our piano if you’d like to share some music. You may bring in any art project you wish to. An instructor will be on hand and we’re here to help. Best of all, it’s free!  We invite you to grab a friend or come alone and enjoy a nice evening of working on your art with like-minded people.

For more information on exhibits or to sign for classes and events visit wassenbergartcenter.org. The Wassenberg Art Center is located at 214 S. Washington St. (former Van Wert Armory).
