NPAC hosting Community Read event

Niswonger PAC information

The Niswonger Performing Arts Center, in partnership with the Brumback Library in Van Wert, has announced the selection of a non-fiction work, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, as the book for this year’s Community Read.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, November 12, in the First Federal Lecture Hall of the Niswonger, panelists who are passionate about the book will be present to lead discussion on its content and impact on society. A moderator will guide the discussion.

Unbroken book cover 10-19-15Unbroken, the Louis Zamperini story, is an amazing story of courage and redemption. The Community Read will also be coupled with a Niswonger Speaker Series event that will provide greater insights into the book. At 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, Luke Zamperini shares the story of his father, Louis, from the Niswonger stage.

The Luke Zamperini Speaker Series event is a ticketed event for $20, with a special early ticket release for the speaking event available to those who participate in the Community Read on November 12.

Copies of Unbroken are available at the Brumback Library, 215 W. Main Street in Van Wert. A Community Read event is a wonderful opportunity to bring individuals together in the community through a shared reading experience and is certain to enrich the lives of those who participate. Ag Credit-Country Mortgages and First Presbyterian Church’s Read & Review Book Club are underwriting this endeavor.

The Niswonger is located at 10700 Ohio 118 on the south edge of Van Wert.

The event is free and open to all ages.
