The Lady Cougar tennis team defeated Defiance 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League match held Monday at Van Wert.

Individual match scores are as follows:

• No. 1 singles: Ali Moreland (VW) def. Racquel Gomez (D) 6-0, 6-2.
• No. 2 singles: Kali Agler (VW) def. Molly Huntington (D) 6-3, 6-3.
• No. 3 singles: Emma Verville (VW) def. Julia Chavez (D) 6-4, 6-4.
• No. 1 doubles: Phoebe Eutsler/Katie Trittschuh (VW) def. Alyssa Cruz/Kristen Bell (D) 6-4, 6-1.
• No. 2 doubles: Sierra Blackmore/Jess Agler (VW) def. McKalynn Schroeder/Allison Bailey (D) 6-0, 6-0.

With the win, the Cougars go to 7-4 overall and 6-3 in the WBL, while Defiance is now 5-11 overall and 2-7 in league play, with the WBL tournament coming up.
