Robert E. Prine Sr.

Robert E. Prine Sr., 93, of Delphos, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

He was born April 18, 1922, in Delphos, the son of Clifford and Nora (Stopher) Prine, who both preceded him in death. He married Betty I. (Truax) Prine, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include two sons, Glen (Janet) Prine of Delphos and Gary (Laura) Prine of Kendallville, Indiana; two daughters, Irene (Donald) Lehman of Delphos and Sheila (Doug) Metzger of St. Marys; a sister, Norma (Donald) Moore of Grover Hill; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Georgia Bradford of Kendallville.

A son, Robert Prine Jr.; six brothers, Hershel, Richard, Larry, Melvin, William and Jack Prine; three sisters, Twila Ball, Loraine Carder and Margaret Honigford; a son-in-law, Sam Korte; and one grandson, Kevin Korte, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, at Christian Union Church in Delphos, with the Rev. Gary Fish officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County, with graveside military honors performed by the Delphos Veterans Council.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, September 4, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: State of the Heart Hospice of Mercer County or Christian Union Church.
