Lincolnview cross country information

The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams competed at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival this Saturday. The Tiffin Carnival is one of the largest cross country meets in the nation.

The Lincolnview girls’ team finished the day in sixth place in the nearly 50-team field. The Lancer girls beat six state-ranked teams on their way to the second best Carnival finish in school history. The Lady Lancers had two medalists in Anna Gorman and Rylee Byrne. who both placed in the top 50. Abbie Enyart, Brayden Langdon and Alena Looser were the top five runners for the Lancers, with Trinity Welch and Maddie Snyder rounding out the varsity scoring.

The boys’ team finished in the 10th position, which is the third best Tiffin Carnival finish in school history. The boys were also able to beat six state-ranked teams. The boys were led by Austin Elick, who was closely followed by the Lancer pack of Karter Tow, Trevor Neate, Alek Bowersock, Colton Snyder, Andrew Fickert and Jacob Keysor.

“Both teams placed well today; Tiffin is a different kind of race and nothing like anything we will experience the rest of the season,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “It was good to run on what will be our regional course and allow the kids to run in such a neat event.

“We certainly did not run our best team races of the season, but we competed well enough to finish in the top 10,” Langdon added. “That is not easy to do in such a competitive and large race.”

Langdon said the next several weeks will be key for the Lancers as they begin the push toward the Northwest Conference and state tournament.”
